Monte Cassino Students Raise $12,000 for Angel Tree
Monte Cassino School, a private Pk-8 Catholic school in Tulsa, OK is proud to announce their sixth grade has raised over $12,000 for the Salvation Army Angel Tree.
In September, 58 sixth graders were tasked with performing acts of service and odd jobs to raise money for the Angel Tree. Students raked leaves, had bake sales, sold hand-made goods, singing birthday grams and performed other tasks and raised over $12,000 through the duration of the two-month project.
On Tuesday, December 10th, at 10:30am the students and their chaperones visited Woodland Hills Mall where selected just over 60 angels and purchased gifts for them.
In addition to emphasizing the importance of giving to those in need, students learn how to budget, prioritize, manage time and work as a team. This project is a long-standing Monte Cassino tradition.
Community and service are two very important virtues at Monte Cassino. At Thanksgiving students and families collected over 1,400 pounds of food for Catholic Charities and will kick off our annual Diaper Drive in January
