Monte Cassino Middle School provides a rigorous and developmentally-appropriate educational program for students of all faith traditions through the legacies of Benedictine instruction and Catholic values.
Middle school students at Monte Cassino refine their intellectual interests while developing leadership skills and social and moral behaviors to serve as a foundation for future studies. We are committed to providing dedicated, caring, qualified educators. The majority of our middle school teachers have master’s degrees and have taught or are certified at the high school level. This is all intentional to prepare students for high school success.

The benefits of our Pre-K through eighth grade model are proven. Our middle schoolers are campus leaders yet, since there is not a high school attached, they thrive in an age-appropriate environment without distractions of wanting to grow up too quickly.

  • Advisory - Student Support

The Monte Cassino Advisory Program enables students to feel supported and valued in their daily school life. In a small group setting, students build meaningful relationships with their peers and advisor, creating a culture of connectedness. Advisory class intentionally promotes wellness, self-advocacy, teamwork, organization, and reflection. This focus on self-management skills and social-emotional learning builds community, creates a sense of belonging, and provides tools to successfully navigate the Middle School.

Students meet daily with their advisors and advisory groups for leadership and life skill activities, social time, team building and to support each other.
  • Fifth Grade Overview

The fifth grade serves as a transition year between the self-contained class structure of the Elementary School and the departmental nature of the Middle School.

Students are exposed to a variety of programs and can begin to make decisions about where they would like to focus their studies. In addition to the core classes of reading, writing, math and science, students learn about moral and social development through their religion class, experience physical education and health instruction, take surveys of languages including French, Spanish and Latin, expand their artistic ability through art and music, and can experience extra-curricular activities like student leadership and Academic Bowl.
  • Sixth through Eighth Grade Overview

Middle School students decide on their academic path, by selecting a world language, their electives and decide whether or not to pursue our Honors Program.

In our Math Department, the majority of students will complete Algebra before they enter high school, and Geometry is also available for the students that have exceeded these offerings.

Our world language students (French, Latin, Spanish) are well- prepared and most will be ready for Spanish II, French II or Latin II programs when they graduate our middle school.
